About Our Old Europe
AN INTRODUCTION
This group is about celebrating Europe, the old, savy Europe many of us belong to, together with the people who live and share this fantastic continent.
Despite the diversity existing between Europeans (sometimes bringing to well-known stereotypes: Italians=mafia, English=hooligans an beer, Germans= uh-oh not so flexible - the list is wide and you could help me feed it), every time I visit an European country I feel somewhat at home.
And I start believing that those many different people, from Instanbul to London, from Berlin to Madrid, those people who harshly fought each other for centuries now have much more in common than we usually think.
All those people now live in peace and respect each other.
We share the wisdom belonging to thousands of years of history, with our differencies becoming our strength, a continuous source of enrichment.
I'm proud to be part of such history. And I'd like to celebrate it with you.
GROUP ELIGIBILITY
So the group is about celebrating Europe. This is the place for all the images telling stories and offering a glance on places, people, situations happening in this vast territory.
The adjective "old" however, doesn't mean that you have to describe only historical places or old people. On the contrary, this is the place where the old and new soul of Europe should be both described. Preferably (but not compulsorily) the pics should not simply be postcards of known EU venues (i.e.: the typical postcard of Tour Eiffel). There should be more in it to better narrate our story.
However, the rules are basically quite simple:
1)Pics must have been shot in Europe (considering West Russia and Turkey as part of it, of course)
2) Pics must not be offensive to anyone (no racism, porno, pee, poo, you know what I mean)
3) Pics must be TAGGED with the country AND (separately) the place where the shot was taken.
The Group Tag is "Our Europe"
Well, I'm eagerly waiting for your works here.
Ciao Ola Bye Au revoir
(help me complete the list! :-))
