(I shamelessly borrowed the text from APG's site to create this page) FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT SOUTH ATLANTA FLICKR What's this group about anyway? The South Atlanta Flickr Group is a co-operative. We meet to share technique, equipment, and a good time. Official meetings and workshops are way below the price point of the general market because we believe that photography is exciting and that excitement should be shared. Who runs this funhouse? South Atlanta Flickr began in January of 2008 after Julie Harnage had attended an APG meeting and wanted to bring something to the southside. She wanted to create an environment where local photographers could share knowledge and have fun doing it. The group has now grown to over 500 members. She is a photographer that lives just south of Atlanta (about 45 minutes south - in Jackson) and is trying to get together with some other photogs in the area. For photo strolls, meetups ... coffee, chocolate... whatever! Meet the Admins of South Atlanta Flickr. When are meetings held? Meetings are held on a monthly basis and feature aspiring and professional models as subjects. Pictures taken at meetings are for portfolio / Flickr use ONLY unless an agreement between artist and model has been agreed to. Commercial / promotional use by model or photographer is prohibited unless agreed to by both parties. Can I attend? If you have an interest in photography or modeling, yes! Where are meetings held? At various locations around the south of Atlanta, but we've been at Season's Bistro a lot lately. Always check the monthly shoot thread for up to date info. SAF RULES I have a friend who'd be a perfect model for an SAF meeting. How do I get him / her in the mix? Awesome! As much as possible we try to use models that SAF admin/members have worked with before. If you can vouch for the reliability and dedication of the person you're suggesting, please send us their contact information along with a link to a non-Myspace picture. southATLflickr@gmail.com. More than likely each model will go through a pre-screening with an admin of SAF before they are allowed to model for the group. I keep seeing SHOT OF THE MONTH as a thread header. What's that about? After every meeting we post our favorite shots of the official models. The winner is chosen by an outsider or sponsor. The winner takes home a little prize :) I've got something to sell. Do you guys ever have any photography classes or workshops? Why yes we do. Classes or workshop that are happening soon will typically be listed in the grey box at the top of the page, however you can visit the Classes & Workshops Thread for all the details. SAF has adopted the stance that images should be considered "Safe for Work" in order for them to be added to the pool. If you are unsure what that means, here is a little description. Understand that images will be monitored by Admins & MODs, and if your image doesn't meet our SFW criteria then it will be removed. If that happens it doesn't mean we don't like you, so don't get your feelings hurt.
