About little boxes
Specifically, the Westlake District of Daly City, California, developed by Henry Doelger. Photos of Daly City more generally should go into the Daly City group, though non-Westlake Daly City photos that exemplify the mid-century theme certainly are welcome.
The 1964 folksong "Little Boxes," by Malvina Reynolds, is said to have been inspired by the suburban living exemplified by Daly City:
"Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky-tacky,
Little boxes, little boxes,
Little boxes, all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one
And they're all made out of ticky-tacky
And they all look just the same."
