About The Cunning Linguist Group

I am neither cunning nor a linguist, but I teach English and French to non-native speakers and use linguistic stuff all the time. If you didn’t get the “cunning linguist” joke, try saying it out loud. It sounds almost like “cunnilingus.” That’s funny! “Cunnilingus” is an interesting word too. I mean, it is a practice that is pre-historic and yet the lexicographers of both my French and English dictionaries couldn’t find documented evidence of that word dating earlier than the second half of the 19th century! I think that’s crazy! Let’s be realistic, homosexual men are the only normal people who don’t like cunnilingus!

Anyway this group is dedicated to all languages, spoken, written, and signed (i.e. with hands). It is for posting images concerning tongues as well as discussions about them. (I like to show the proper usage of my tongue to young ladies!:-P) I mostly use English because it takes too much damn time for me to write everything twice or thrice etc. But I don’t want you to think this group is Anglocentric. We’re about all languages.

I hope you didn’t mind my impudent jokes, but if you are offended by humour, well that’s your problem ;-)

BTW here’s a cool site I found: www.uiowa.edu/~acadtech/phonetics/
