Photograph the ordinary, the mundane: places and things the eye normally skates over without pausing to look.
Look at everyday reality and see how extraordinary it really is. Shoes under a bed, a motorway intersection, a green-tiled shower cubicle, the inside of the oven, a child's tricycle...
Some caveats:
This group is called "At War with the Obvious", i.e., the Eggleston-esque pursuit of photographically communicated meaning within the otherwise mundane. It is not "The Obvious", i.e. the mundane with nothing else in particular.
Things that are designed to be beautiful also look beautiful when photographed, things like pretty buildings, nicely done graffiti, landscaping, etc. When a photographer doesn't really add much to such subjects, the results are not best suited for this group.
