About Winter lights

Celebrate with pictures of any winter light and new year celebration. This includes Christmas, Yule, Winter Solstice, Kwanzaa, Hannukah, Saturnalia, Dies Natalis Invicti Solis, mummers processions, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day (though I'd like to keep basic photos of drinking and other new year's generic stuff in other communities, I probably won't delete it here), Twelfth Night, Luciadagen, Tet, and whatever other festive, light-filled holidays fall in the wintertime.

If your celebrations are atypical (for instance, I usually celebrate New Year's Day by going out on a hike or otherwise into nature, folks sometimes celebrate Christmas in Australia with a beach picnic) please include them here! Likewise, we'd love to see the images you put together for your Christmas or other holiday cards.

It's also for pictures of the associated trappings, the candles and gifts and baking and family gatherings.

For the sake of this group, I'm defining "wintertime" as Dec. 1-Feb. 29 in the northern hemisphere, and June 1-Aug. 31 in the southern hemisphere, with the addition of southern versions of holidays like Christmas that happen in the summer there.
