About Why I live in California

California - shockingly expensive, way too crowded (in places), geologically dangerous (everywhere), reviled and mocked by others -- so why again DO we live here?

This group was created to uncover and display the California that keeps you living here: California -- not family, not pets, not the usual flickr clutter, please. Instead, the cities, the mountains, the beaches, the light, the images that capture that moment when you say, "oh yeh, THAT'S why I live here. " Photos should be, where possible, visually self-explanatory and if they make non-Californians gnash their teeth in envy, or scratch their heads and say, "those godless, crazy left-coast commies," we say AMEN! One picture per day. The administrator reserves the rights to reject photos that seem to have nothing to do with California and will not tolerate rants against Golden States. (We have had to listen to that for the last 2 administrations, thank you very much.)
