About The Louise T Blouin Institute
The Institute opened in 2006 in West London with an exhibition of the work of exceptional light installation artist, James Turrell. A special addition to the opening of this new 35,000 square foot exhibition space was a permanent installation in the exterior of the building of a constantly altering facade created and designed by Turrell. Since its opening, the Institute has shown the work of Gary Hill and Gerry Judah and is currently exhibiting a retrospective of the art and architecture of one of the godfather's of American modernism, Richard Meier.
The Institute is one of the largest non-government funded, not-for-profit cultural spaces in London and is a showcase for both established and emerging contemporary artists, think-tanks and artistic performances of all forms, whilst also providing a home for the Louise T Blouin Foundation and its work. Louise T Blouin MacBain, the CEO of LTB Media, invested £20 million to transform the former coach-works into an important cultural arts space, involving the local community and injecting capital into an area currently undergoing regeneration and redevelopment.
