***This is a group for anyone who would like to make quilt blocks, take a photo of each block and post it to the group page, and mail them to me to contribute to a quilt to be given to the Linus Project. All you need to do is make 5 blocks (or more if you like!).

1. Each block will use different fabrics but all the same color. My reason for this rule is that I don't want each quilt to be too busy. So monochrome. Subtle color schemes are often really beautiful. Be clear about the colors which are the following: "white / beige", "yellow", "pink", "blue", "green"; not teal, not lime, so I can put them all together. Think pastels, too because they will be going to children.

2. NO embellishments, like beads, sequins, buttons, paint. These are going to babies and children.

3. 100% COTTON fabric only, no flannel.

4. Make these blocks 8"X8" exactly. Remember that if you are making a quilt block that has points, like a star, there needs to be 1/4" around the star for the seam allowance so the points stay pointy. Just make sure that you square the block to 8" before mailing to me.

5. I will supply the batting and backing, unless you have some you would like to donate.

6. Pin a tag to each block with your name (first only is fine) and city, state or country if outside the US... so I can give a note with the quilts saying where the blocks originated. I think the children will enjoy a quilt that comes from all over the country/world. (You could also just stick an adress label to the back).

When the quilts are finished, I'll post photos of them. I will also keep everyone updated on the progress. I run a shop so I can get busy. But I promise not to drop the ball on this! PS: if you think my rules are too involved, I am so sorry. It's the only way I can keep the progress going smoothly. I invite you to start your own charity quilt group, because there are so many children/adults who could benefit from such a group. :)
