I had not planed to start a group of my own, but I wanted to share some photos and information on the early part of Hollywood and the development of the first studios. Most of the other groups about Hollywood only want to focus on the Glamour and the big stars. History is the magic I love and hope to see the many unsung heroes who made this one of the most fascinating business in the World.

About Hollywood a Family : Myth and Realities

Hollywood the name congers up thoughts of Movie Stars and Glamour. The truth behind the myth, Hollywood is a company town and the town encompasses the greater Los Angeles area. In fact it is an international business and has a vast army of people who make it work.

This group is dedicated to the family that it takes to run the entertainment industry in "Hollywood". The actors, dancers, singers, camera people, writers, directors, producers, gaffers, grips, and all the others who toiled in the imagination factory that's Hollywood. It also covers you who buy the tickets and movies and the retail guys that sell them.

I would like this group to be a place to share our old photos, stories, and ephemera, from 1905 to today. So please find your old photos and papers, that have been gathering dust and fading away and help bring them back to life. If you happen to see somebody working or a film being shot anywhere send us those photos. Share your rich history with the World so they can live again.

Most of us who have lived here in the greater Los Angeles area. Have family and friends who have worked in at least one facet of the local entertainment business, I would like this group to involve a wide base of people in the whole entertainment industry. Look at the photos that I invite. That should give you an idea of the scope I want this group to be about, so please share.
