About Recently Extinct Animals

This group is about animals which became extinct during the last 5000 years. This includes comparably recently extinct animals like the thylacine, but also species which became extinct in ancient times, for example the last mammoths on Wrangel Island, which lived about 4000 years ago. The aim of this group is to gather as much photos about extinct animals from all over the world as possible. This includes photos of stuffed specimens, skeletons, reconstructions or pictures from museums, exhibitions or private collections, as well as self-made drawings, paintings or sculptures of extinct animals. It can also include photos of re-breed animals like aurochs-like cattle or tarpan-like horses.
What animals belong in this group? This group is about extinct animals in general, that means not only about extinct species, but also about extinct subspecies of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fishes and invertebrates. Photos of extinct domestic breeds are also welcome.
If you have any photos of extinct animals from museums or elsewhere, help this group and add them to the other ones.
