52MONOCHROME is a place where photographers come together to share, compete and improve their skills in the fine art of monochrome photography.

It is important to note that photographers wanting to join our group must be sponsored by an existing member of our group. We are NOT a group for the casual or inexperienced photographer. We cater to the exceptional and are expected to maintain a high photographic quality in the images we accept.

Moreover, in order to keep true to the vision of 52MONOCHROME, some images may not be included in our gallery. If you find that your image was not accepted, please don't be offended, just try again with a different image.

Please be kind and engage our membership and their contributions to this forum. Award the works you find inspiring. Its good for you, its good for the members and benefits our community overall.

GROUP POLICIES

1) Foremost, we are a group solely dedicated to the excellence of monochrome photography.

(a) B&W photography is our preference.
(b) Images that have been toned (e.g. sepia, selenium, gold, etc.) in a manner similar to traditional film-based techniques are acceptable

2) Our most important rule is P-A-R-T-I-C-I-P-A-T-I-O-N. We want members who are willing to engage other photographers!
(a) Comment on the fine works of others.
(b) Participate in our competitions.
(c) Vote and buzz around on the message boards.
(d) Lack of participation and engaging our membership could result in a lack of approving your images into our group pool.
** We want a community of exceptional talent and charismatic personalities to help make this group a thriving and successful one for all to enjoy and proud to be a part of.

3) You are allowed to POST 1 image per day to the pool. We expect our members to abide by the POST 1; AWARD 2 principle. Its good for you, its good for our members and it only benefits our community as a whole.

4) We do not accept:
(a) Images containing or implying a political message.
(b) Images containing or implying an act of violence.
(c) Images containing or implying cruelty to children or animals.
(d) Images that are considered "Blood Sport".
(e) Pornographic images.
(f) Selective coloring
(g) Pet photography
** Implied nudes and nude images that are done "tastefully and artistically", and can demonstrate an admiration and/or an appreciation of the human form in its entirety are acceptable. However, admins and moderators reserve the right to decide what is acceptable and what is not when submitting a nude.

5) Images must have a title, or simply be Untitled. We do not accept images with filenames such as IMG_01, DSCxxx, etc.

6) Admin and moderators reserve the right to remove any image, without notice, that does not meet the intent of this group.
