23 Feb 12 - Brazos Bend is part of a study comparing hunted to non-hunted alligators. Gators are being tagged with colored &/or numbered tags. Information collected includes size, weight, population density, site structure, reproduction success, & water quality. One tag is a small colored tag on the back of the neck. The color represents the lake or area the gator was tagged in, tracking how much gators move from lake to lake. The other tag is numbered & located on the tail to identify specific gators.
