About 50 cups of coffee

———50 cups of coffee———
This is a group dedicated to two habits: photography and coffee. The idea is to create a series of 50 photos showing off coffee's place in your life. There's no one way everyone takes their coffee, so there's no one way to go through this project, but here are the ideas we've come up with to start you off:
• 50 cups, in a row: Drink a lot of coffee? Take a lot of photos? What about one of each cup you drink?
• 50 cups, one a day: One photo a day, plain and simple.
• 50 cups, one a week: The decaf option. Take your time, don't rush it.

———General guidelines———
Close-up photos of your coffee are great, but it might start to look like the World of Mugs catalogue around here if that was all there was. Having your coffee in the photo is a big plus (even tucked away in a corner), but not strictly necessary: if you want to branch out and be creative, just try and keep it closely tied to how, when, and/or where you drink coffee. Some ideas:
• stages of making your coffee.
• people you drink coffee with.
• have it the same way every day? A series of photos as identical as you can make them!
• have a regular server or barista? Take their photo (but be nice: remember they're working and ask them first).

———Tagging guidelines———
They don't really do anything at the moment, but if you wanted to, you could tag your photos as follows:
• 50cups (for anything)
• 50cups:inarow=##
• 50cups:oneaday=##
• 50cups:oneaweek=##
For all of those, '##' should be replaced by the appropriate number; 1 for the first cup, 2 for the second, and so forth. These don't do anything at the moment, but eventually I hope to have a way to track who's at what point of their project, and do other fun things.

Tags about the coffee itself could also be neat if enough people do it: espresso, instant, Starbuck's, anything like that could give us an idea of how people drink their coffee. Geotagging too!

———Fun Facts———
• Voltaire is said to have drank 50 cups of coffee a day. Or more.
• The Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark) lead the world in coffee consumption per capita, and I can tell you why: they make really good coffee.
• The Beastie Boys song Super Disco Breakin' starts off with the lyric "50 cups of coffee you know it's on," but Sabotage is still better.
• Fair Trade coffee (and related certification programs) have a direct positive influence on the quality of life of small coffee cultivators, improving access to capital, training, and education for them, their families and their communities.
