About Alternative Fuel Vehicles & The Future of Transportation

This group is inspired by my recent photoshoot of the finish line at the North American Solar Challenge (that "rayce" of solar-powered cars held every two years).

While being a die-hard classic car enthusiast, I have a fascination with some of the new alternative fuel vehicles on the market or just in the concept phase. Everything from hybrid to electric to fuel cell to... (you name it).

It will be very interesting in the future to see how the passenger vehicle and commercial transportation sector will develop, some interesting concept cars already exist.

Besides, I couldn't find a suitable group to put my pictures in too! The selfish reason.

Anyway, post your pictures of alternative fuel vehicles. As long as the fuel for the vehicle isn't gas or diesel you are welcome to post your pictures here, pictures of hybrid cars also welcome.

BRAMMO Inc., the manufacturer of the BRAMMO Enertia powercycle, was formed in 2002 by entrepreneur Craig Bramscher. BRAMMO is headquartered in Ashland, Oregon situated between the Cascade and Siskiyou Mountains in the southern part of the state, 12 miles north of the California border. The company name "BRAMMO" dates back to Craig Bramscher's high school football days – it was the nickname given to Craig by his football coach.

BIORACING Series

A Swiss company now has an electric race car.

Green GT

It has anrace-spec carbon-fiber chassis holds two liquid-cooled 100-kilowatt (about 148 horsepower) motors that the Swiss gearheads claim put 1,475 pound-feet of torque to the tarmac at up to 100 mph. That figure rolls off to 590 pound-feet beyond the century mark and stays there as the car approaches its claimed top speed of 170 mph. The juice comes from a pair of 30-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion polymer battery packs. All told, the car weighs 1,896 pounds.
