About MUST BE TRUE IT SAID SO IN THE PAPERS
Mistakes which have appeared in newspapers and magazines which give an entirely new meaning to something usually because a word has been mispelled ("Miss H's gladioli garden has been attracting much attention recently-she spends many hours among her collection of pants") ,awkwardly worded ("2 cycles left by girls leaning against a lamp post and badly damaged") ,the plain nutty ("Low conversations allowed in the public gallery")or gremlins got in the machine ("Police disbelieve a naval stoker who says he is not dead") .
Or the kind of stuff submitted by readers which escaped the proof reader ("He returned a few minutes later and announced the visitor in faultless Englsh-Signor Tillizini")
Many of these classic newspaper howlers have been gathered in print: many times
