Networking is a force to be reckoned with. It must be done one year in advance. If you have not develop a minimum of 5,000 contacts which includes relatives, friend’s, in-laws, neighbors and their friends, their relatives, their in-laws, their neighbors and their whole network…… you are not doing your business properly. See this illustration in appendix 3. During the festive season where informal interaction flows freely, it is the best time to do it. Do not think about thick skin or shyness. There should be no such words in your personal vocabulary. Rather warmth and friendship, forgiveness and understanding should be your champion statement for a winning personality. It is not if you are fair, tall and handsome but your kind, courteous and respectful personality. If you are in business or going to be in business you are in the high profile group of your relatives and their friends and their friend’s friends- so build up a good image. The person who harnesses this force rules his financial success. Nobody can take it away from him. He who ignores it for any reason fails miserably in his financial goals. During your initiative to expand your networking you may be hampered by your spouse and her/his reservation on a particular group of people. Do not worry about such thing. Ignore them and just do it. During the festivities nobody block your meeting with people. You can meet all the relatives and their in-laws and their own circle of friends, your in-law relatives and friends and their friends’ friends……the list is endless. You will have an enormous amount of people to work with – to sell with- to be with…. You are alone no more! Do not pass the chance to go to an open house invitation during these festivities. Sometimes, we are embarrassed to go because of so many personal problems. Do not worry. Nobody knows! Nobody bothers! If you are going to be a successful businessman you must not shirk networking! Remember to have your name card ready. Your name card must be informative so that they will know what you are dealing with and will come back to you when they need you. At the same time get their cards. If they do not have cards – take down their name, telephone numbers, email address, residential address. Take the initiative to be a leader of man. A simple information exchanger sheet is sufficient or a notebook. Make sure you carry a clutch bag so that information can be stored safely. IMPORTANT: YOU WILL NEVER HAVE A CHANCE TO GET THIS KIND OF INFORMATION EXCHANGE AT ANY OTHER TIME. SO MAKE FULL USE OF IT. IT SURE BEAT COLD CALLING!
