I already have two large items that I want to give to a good home (and that don't seem to be moving on craigslist) along with a handful of little things that I never really needed to begin with. I'm sure I'll have TONS of others things to pass on in a couple weeks.

I'll have a garden pot or 2, a red tea kettle, some cookie cutters and I think some Ikea frames and some plants (and if anyone needs some succulent cuttings, let me know I'll hook you up if I can!)

Hi everyone! So I'm selling the media stand (the one with the microwave and plant on it), my bed, and later my couch on Craigslist. This will be my first time using Craiglist to sell anything. I know to include a photo and dimensions, which is easy since they are all ikea.
How do you price things? And how long do you generally wait before finding a legitimate buyer?
Thanks for the tips! I can't wait to redecorate.

Hi Megs. Craigslist is tricky. I sold a car in 40 minutes, received kinky (and icky) responses to a bridesmaid dress (never sold), a laptop 4 weeks, and have had my table up with no responses for a week.
I'd say price a little higher than your minimum so that you've got some negotiation room.
The more info you include in the ad, the better. Good luck!

TIME FOR LE SWAP!!
We're thinking Saturday November 22nd in Culver City (It's the saturday before thanksgiving so perfect timing to get rid of everything) and we'd do it in the morning, 10-ish so that everyone can come, hang out and swap and be on their way by lunchtime.
Plus, if we're lucky, I can borrow a truck and just take everything that doesn't get swapped straight to the donation place!
What do you guys think? Can you make it on the 22nd?

Yep, I'm there as well. I don't know how much actual swap(able) stuff I'll have. I'm finding that most of my Outbox is junk that just needs thrown away(like files folders that have been written all over). We'll see what pickins I can find before the 22nd. I'm in Studio City, but Culver City is fine for me. I'm easy like that!

I have two tables to sell in San Diego--one is a terrific drop leaf table that is small enough to seat two people when it is all folded down and large enough if the two leaves to seat 10-12 easily! I'm asking $400 for it but I would sell it to a fellow Curee for $250! This table is quite old and I had it refinished about 8 years ago. (I replaced it with a teak table that my mom and dad had when I was growing up.)
I'll post pictures soon.
I also have a really cute drop leaf table that looks like something from the 40s or 50s--it had at least 4 coats of paint on it that I started stripping. It's just too much of a project for me now--be proud of me--this is so cute that I don't want to part with it... but Ii know someone out there has the love and attention to spend on it! I'd love $50 for it.

I'm really hoping to make it to Le Swap..I'm just joining the cure, I realize I'm 5 weeks behind but something has got to give :) At this point making any progress on my apartment would be life changing. I attempted the last cure, got too overwhelmed and busy with work that I flaked. I've been in my place a year now and really need to purge purge purge.
I haven't felt like I've had a home for years. I don't enjoy being there because it's not the way I want it, I'm so busy with work that the cleaning has totally suffered. It's bad. I don't have people over because then I'd actually need to get it in order first, that has got to change, it's so isolating.
Now that I feel I've gotten the negativity out of the way (hopefully) I feel some relief.
Reading over the posts from the last few weeks really motivated me to spring into action, seems like a really great group. Yaay!
