I did my floors last week (mostly) as I was off by a week on when we were starting. So this weekend I"m wet-washing the wood floors in the dining and living room (maybe even the bedroom if I'm feeling adventurous!) and getting some flowers. I'm also going to TRY to remember to haul the bag of reject clothes and the box of goodwill offerings to Goodwill this weekend.

Working on putting away the rest of my boxes so I can fully vacuum and mop my floors. Bought the flowers which really did add life to the house (pictures to come) and really struck home that we hadn't unpacked so what are you going to put them in. Hopefully this weekend is the last weekend of boxes for a long while.

I'm sitting in my spot for 10 minutes and doing the floors. Oh yeah, and getting rid of my one item. I am so excited to be getting rid of it. If I'm feeling ambitious, I might rearrange my living room. I gotta get that entry way going!!!

Our block has organized to decorate for Halloween together so we shall be putting up some Halloween decor this weekend.
I'm also hoping to add to my style tray of bathroom accessories. We are particularly interested in ones with a natural wood finish. If you come across a nicely designed trash can, toilet brush, bath shelf, soap dispenser, bath mat, etc., please do let me know!

I'm going to continue with the floor vacuuming (with a 95 pound Akita, the floors always need vacuumed this time of year), taking some boxes of "stuff" to Goodwill, and hopefully doing a rough sort (keep-recycle-shred) on the nine!! cartons of papers that I've unearthed so far. Whatever else I can fit in around the usual weekend madness, not sure, depends on the weather, and if any friends with cars are available.
I took some time this week to make style-collage-images, I've been saving up digital images of what I like in color and design. I didn't feel that I could set aside a place currently for a style tray, so I made them on my computer, and that way I can print them out for my notebook of inspiration.

We've decided to try and sell our ugly uncomfortable 'couch' (if you can call it that). So we're taking pictures to a local vintage/antique store to see if they'll consign it for us. Otherwise we might just put a 'free to a good home' ad on craigslist.
We're washing the floors today and our repairs (which are minimal) have been listed.
Still haven't brought home any flowers yet... I'll probably go out and do that today.
Can't wait until Kitchen week! I have so many ideas!

I'll be finishing up the floors in my big, messy living room, buying flowers, creating a style tray or notebook (even though I'm doing deep-treatment only this time), and removing an easel, a pilates ball, and a lamp I hate from my space. I will also get started on the kitchen as the amount of stuff in drawers and cupboards will take more than a week to get through...

Floors, yes floors for me too.
AND, a big breakthough. I am removing the futon from the kitchen (the dogs bed) and replaceing with it with a much smaller crib mattress, that I can dress up with a nice sheet. My older dog will still have her soft sleeping spot, but I won't have the huge futon covering the floor and half of the wall. Yipee!!

Definitely floors. It's actually weird to do floors first. It's always the last thing I do when cleaning as you have to pick up all the stuff off the ground. Also, I'm working on halloween costumes with glitter so floors will be a continuous issue for awhile.

Ack, the weekend is already gone and I feel like I got nothing done! now I feel shame! Shame!
Seriously, all I managed to do was change out the kitchen cabinet knobs, put up the pet treat wrangler, and buy the headboard for my bed. I am overwhelmed at all the stuff I have to do and not sure at all how to focus my energy and budget on such a big project.

Still haven't done much for week one. Not sure why, but my boyfriend being on crutches last week didn't help.
Time to really hunker down and get it finished before we get so behind we feel hopeless!

aquarabbit, it sounds like you've gotten a lot done! Every bit counts! It took me monthes to decide upon and install new kitchen cabinet knobs. I just try to chip away every spring and fall. It really starts adding up over time. Good going so far!

Yeah, I didn't get everything done that I wanted to, either. I don't know about everyone else, but the floors are the most daunting part of week one for me. I mopped two rooms yesterday, and I'm going to finish the other 3 today.
Luckily, not every task on the list accumulates in a way that you can actually get behind on. I'd say floors, and also the list of repairs are the two most necessary for the Deep Treatment. Also, if you find yourself getting behind on the Deep Treatment but planned to do the One-Room remed, it's probably a sign that the Deep Treatment is enough for right now (that's what I had to do the last time around).

The floors were harder than I thought! When I pulled Herbie (my vacuum) and my mop out of the closet to start, I ended up cleaning it out.
I did the floors in the bedroom/bathroom/kitchen all on Saturday. But I used the living room to move everything into so I did that on Sunday. I removed my item to put it outside.

That was the best part.
Tonight I'm going to site in a spot I never sit in for 10 minutes.

I was stoked I got all the floors cleaned, took photos I haven't posted yet, my husband and I tackled the horrible bedroom closet and that pretty much sucked up the whole weekend....we went to our favorite "home" store and it's a Japanese $1.50 store that had those space saving bags and grippy shelf liner all for $1.50 each!!
I also organized my office desk...what a relief.
Still didn't get fresh flowers but moved our plant to a nicer home.
