25 Jul 07 - This is a forum to capture the change you see in the GTA. It could be a building coming down to make way for another, or it could be your vision of a neighborhood in flux. If you see change to the urban landscape and choose to capture it, to borrow off our city's tagline - it belongs here.

The criteria.
- It must be a photo from Toronto or the GTA.
- It must capture (aspects of) a dramatic* change in the urban landscape.

*Dramatic is a subjective opinion. Opine away.

About Toronto Rising: New development in the city

Perhaps renaissance would be too lavish a word to expend on the up-tick in new architecture in Toronto, but there is a definite buzz in the air. It started with Aslop's stilted (sic) design for the OCAD. The Pale Pearson Pachyderm then reared its head North of the city. Next we had the ROM crystal land in the COTU and rumors have it there is Massive Change afoot at the AGO.

Most recently, as of July 22, 2007, we had the coming out party for the Sri Swaminarayan mandir. A $40M Hindu temple built using centuries old techniques. More than the dramatic transformation of an especially bleak part of Toronto's suburbian dystopia, I was surprised to see the holy Canadian triumvirate of the PM, the Ontario premier, and the Toronto Mayor show up to pay the honors.

Toronto is a city just coming into bloom and this group is dedicated to capturing these moments.

More than pretty pictures, this is a forum to capture the change you see in the city. It could be a building coming down to make way for another, or it could be your vision of a neighborhood in flux. If you see change to the urban landscape and choose to capture it, to borrow off our city's tagline - it belongs here.
