While many of us have common cultural ideas about many concepts (love, hate, fear, happiness, sadness), the context in which we find ourselves and the ways in which we each interpret and express these concepts can be very different. Exploring how we each "see" these concepts is the goal of 2,088 Ways.

The idea behind 2,088 Ways* is to come up with a theme that will change from week to week and photograph what you find along that theme. There's no limit of how many photographs you can take; our hope is that you will run across at least one instance of that week's theme in the course of the week.

*2,088 is the number of miles between Portland, Oregon (where Laura came up with the idea) and Denton, Texas (where Patrick agreed that it would make an awesome Flickr group) according to Google Maps.
