02 Jul 07 - Please, only attractive photo's of ancient Egyptian artefacts, exhibited in the Egyptian Museum, Cairo.
No massive downloading of photo's that are only interesting for Egyptologists. Just your best photo's that were made in the time that the Museum allowed to take your camera inside this excellent showcase of ancient Egypt. For photo's of Egyptian art in other museums: see also the Flickr group "Ancient Egyptian Art"
Thanks!

About Egyptian Museum, Cairo

In all really important Egyptian Museums in the world photography is allowed. In Cairo however not anymore since a few years. In Berlin Nefertiti is photographed as a star by numerous enthousiastic visitors of the New Museum while Akhenaten and Tutankhamun in a way lost their star status in Cairo where no pictures are made anymore by thousands of disappointed photography loving visitors of the Egyptian Museum who definitely will not return before the photography ban is lifted. Egyptian Tourist Industry is the big loser.

Let's bring together photo's made in the time that photography was allowed in the Cairo Museum.
Just your best photo's. For photo's of Egyptian art in other museums: see also the Flickr group "Ancient Egyptian Art" .
Thanks!
