The Sierra Club, a grassroots conservation organization, is hosting this group to solicit photos from the Metropolitan Washington area that reflect your efforts to explore, enjoy & protect the wild---and not so wild---places in the Washington area, including images of:
* positive, smart energy solutions to global warming,
* people protecting the planet, and having fun while doing it,
* energy efficient transportation choices like Metrorail, bus, biking and walking
* parks, forests, streams, and other special places, including urban gems and suburban havens.

The Sierra Club's members and supporters are more than 1.3 million of your friends and neighbors. Inspired by nature, we work together to protect our communities and the planet. The Club is America's oldest, largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization.
