Tron S-300s

Hi there people,
I bought a flash this christmas and i realized it's not compatible with my camera (canon 400d). Smart eh? :(
What I want to know is , if I insist on using the flash it will break my camera?
I read an article somewhere on internet that talked about the wats that some flash has could break the EOS.
I proved I understand nothing about flashes so I leave you with my question.
Can I or not?
xoxo

I do not know much about if it will damage your camera but I know that it might.
Even so why don't you keep it anyway and use it off camera! get some cheap wireless triggers from ebay !!

It won't break, it just won't sync with ETTL data, so you won't get correct flash exposures like you would with Canon flashes. Thompson is right....if you use it off cam, and learn to manually set the flash power, you'll get amazing pics.

I suggest reading up a bit on strobist, if you haven't seen it before :
www.strobist.blogspot.com/
This involves all the great wonders of off camera flashes. Take a browse at the lighting 101 section.

Is it an older flash? I've heard some of the old flashes are higher voltage and could do something bad to your camera if you use it on camera... What flash is it?
wireless triggers are a safe bet...
