About Our Historic School Architecture
This is a group about the classic historic school architecture -mostly public funded, from 1880 to 1940. However, there are schools that are newer that have architectural integrity, so the group is not limited to this time frame. Too many times, these buildings are ripped down for parking lots, or just a hole in the ground after years of service to the community. These buildings are an extremely important facet of our heritage as they were the first signal to a child that the society in which they lived in, believed in them enough to invest the time and money to give them the best. Those buildings were very well made, built to last 500 years. If you love historic school architecture, this group is for you.
