About Traditional International Boats To expand documentation and imagery of non-'Western' boats. The boats, traditions and fishing communities of Africa, the Middle East, Central and South America, and Asia are in danger of disappearing. We're hoping for pictures of traditional boats in use (not just tourist re-creations), if possible. Images of fishing boats and boatbuilding are especially appreciated. I've started this group because the usual 'nautical' imagery tends to be very (rich) European. Most of the 'restored classic ' images are also usually European. No knowledge of boats is required to post! - we just ask that you post no more than five pictures at a time, to see if they're right for the group. If you could include as much commentary as you can about when and where the picture was taken, and what was going on in the picture, that would be great!
