About 3D Highway

This is the major thoroughfare for 3D artists of all stripes. This group is for people who use computer programs that simulate 3D space, including but not limited to:
3D Studio Max
Maya
Lightwave
SoftImage/XSI
ZBrush
Blender
POV Ray
Bryce
Vue D\'Sprit
Hash Animation Master
Poser
etc.

This group is open to the fullest freedom of expression within 3D art.

Rules:
1. Your work must be 3D computer rendered. If you use toon shaders or sketch shaders, say so.

2. It falls within the terms of use for images hosted on flickr.
In which case we suppose that our kind of art is specifically allowed.

Guidelines:

Please post no more than 3 views of an object or scene per day. Post a few pictures at a time, but post often. Gradually show us a little of everything you have made, but please don't flood us with your work all at once. Variety in contributions from different people and of differing subjects keeps the pool interesting.

I Encorage members to post their best work, their slickest and most finished images. But if you\'ve been working on something for a while then please send us the work in progress, so we know you still love us.

I encorage representational artwork. By representational I mean something that is supposed to look like some kind of person place or thing. Abstract can be interesting, and plese, as long as it falls within the rules don't deprive us of it, but my hope is that people will post their efforts to model something we recognise as an object, character or scene. I include things that are so heavily stylized that we can\'t hardly make out what they are supposed to be. Just so long as it is supposed to be something.

Poser or models you downloaded and are allowed to use are OK, but I prefer that you modify or create the objects in your pictures.

I have been on Poser forums where people talk about modeling as if it is some arcane artform that requires unimaginable talent. Yet everyone I know in day-to-day life can model. Download a free modeling program like Wings3D, just do it. Show some backbone.

Please post ALL your stuff. Post things you have posted to multiple other groups already. Invite your friends. Ask for, and give critiques. Begin a new challenge in the group forum.
