About Globetrotting Ernie

Ernie wants to get out there and see the world. If you'd like to show him your town, you must agree to a couple of things:

THING 1:
Add your screen name to the Ports of Call topic and be sure to include your hometown and country.

Eventually, EDIT your Ports of Call Entry to reflect your status (i.e. - "Current Host" or "Shipped to Next Port of Call")


THING 2:
While Ernie is visiting, show him around town. Take him on a tour. Take him to work. Take him to the club, get him drunk and generally show him a good time. But make sure you take lots of pictures in your own unique style!

Have Fun. But do it in a timely matter. Please keep him for no more than two weeks. Period. We can't stress this enough. When he falls off the face of the earth, people forget about him, forget to check in on his travels and the whole group becomes rather stale. You don’t want that to happen, do you?


THING 3:
Post your pictures to this pool for everyone to see.


THING 4:
When you're ready to send Ernie off (usually in two or three days and remember you can’t keep him longer than 2 weeks!) contact the next person on the list, pack him up with a fresh supply of Pez (if you can buy them in your area) and send him on his way.

When you ship him, if at all possible, please cough up the extras three or four bucks to get him to his next destination in a timely fashion. We realize that not all of us are able to do this and we would NEVER ask you to do something that was not within your means. But if you can, please please please do so.

If you pack anything extra for Ernie to take with him to his next Port of Call, do not expect that it will find it's way all the way through the journey, as this will make postage increasingly more expensive.


THING 5:
The current person showing Ernie a good time will email you when they're ready to send him on his way to get a mailing address. (Only provide your mailing address to the host whose name appears above yours in the thread.)

Once you ship ernie off.. your status will be changed from Port of Call to Travel Agent (Admin) and you can help shape the project.


LAST BUT NOT LEAST THING:
Be sure to check back every so often and comment on the photos, people! And invite all your contacts to sign on as Ports of Call... let's keep this thing going!
