I actually did one yesterday, before I knew about this. I'm thinking of maybe doing a whole week of them. I need to get better at taking pictures on location (i.e. using the strobe flash).

Just to the south of downtown Milwaukee is where the majority of Industrial factories and warehouses reside. This area is known as the Third Ward. Many of the companies have closed up shop and moved to Mexico. Over the last few years some of the spaces have been redesigned and updated as condos, restaurants, shops and bars. I love this part of town. I was looking for spots for a possible photoshoot and came across this . Usually, I'll just take the shot and move on, but decided I would do a self-portrait here.

Rachel I might have to check that area out when I'll be in Green Bay.
This should be simple since I leave for Green Bay on Thursday.

And it's only a couple hours away ;-) There are some great rusty crusty spots in Green Bay. Love the bridges too. Come to think of it, I've never actually taken a picture there even though I go a few times a year for work. I usually just want to get home.

I took this in Lucerne. My kids and I went there for a mini vacation, one night at the youth hostel. In the morning we wanted to go to a traffic museum. But we were too early and had to occupy ourselves for an hour. We found a brilliant playground right next to the lake. They were happy to climb and I had time to take my selfie.
I used the inbuilt flash for this and really liked the overexposed effect I got with it. I didn't have a tripod, so I put my nikon on the camera bag and used the remote control to shoot.

Okay, so normally we are working a little fast for me to be setting up a camera for my 365 days shot, but today we had to wait while they detailed a car... so here we go.
These guys are both my co-workers and my best friends. That's Nick St. Julien in the center and Rodney Mitchell on the right. I am the Creative Services Manager and they work under me... but it doesn't ever seem that way. They are so easy to manage. They do their job and we have fun doing it. Nick is the youngest in the group. He's the jokester of the group and always has us laughing about something. Rodney is the older of us three and I guess more mature. But he's got a great sense of humor as well. Rodney is a also a Pastor and will be overseeing Tammi and I as we renew our vows.
I'm proud to call these guys my friends and can't think of anyone that I'd rather have on my crew. They're creative and hard working and just fun to be around.
As for today, it was a long day. We shot a car commercial this morning... headed to lunch with Tammi and another dear friend of ours and then headed out to shoot another car commercial this afternoon.
I'm ready for a nap!

I think the problem is that the challenge is so vague. What constitutes a "location"? Is it anywhere outside your home? Anyway, I'll try to think of something this weekend.
Btw, I won the weekly challenge two weeks ago with this picture:

How do I claim my 365-button prize?

Here I am, on location! It's sort of hard to see me, but I promise, I'm in there.

This shot required the help of my human tripod, James. It was too windy to set up both tripods to do the TTV that way.

Sometimes you just have to pull the car over as you're driving by and shoot where y'are.

I have taken an "on location" picture every day this week, but I'm not going to flood this thread with them. The first is still my favorite. I have defnitely learned to be less self-conscious and can easily take out my camera wherever and whenever I want.
You can see the rest of the week here.

I went for a walk with the family down at the beach, and kept stopping them so I could precariously perch my camera on bits of rock and leap around. My father asked why I couldn't get just someone to press the button for me, so I wouldn't have to keep setting the timer and sprinting away, but I persevered. And got strange looks from joggers and dogs.

Is this a "location"? I don't know. It is outisde my home, and being that this was my first time there, I can honestly say that I don't normally go there.

I went to Manchester (UK) to the Urbis which is a rather nice art/exhibition place.
Was great fun!

They had a brilliant exhibit on Manga, and how it influences have affected everyday films, music and culture.
I also REALLY love the designs of Tado. Who designed the whole exhibit, as well as most of the items on display.
You can see the the photos I took of the awesome exhibit here!

I have a really hard time taking my self portrait where anyone can see me outside of my family. I have a few that were taken outside of our house, but never right in a public place if anyone was around to see. I've tried - brought my camera along with a photo in mind, but chickened out at the end and never taken it out of the bag. So, for me, that was the biggest challenge of this idea.
So, today we had to run errands as most families do during the weekend, and I brought along my camera because the November 2007 Starters spin-off 365 Days group is having a photo scavenger hunt for which I needed to get some photos. We stopped to buy a few things my daughter needed for dance class at the dance store which just happens to be next to one of my husband's favorite stores, the Army Navy Surplus store.
This combination has amused me from the start; you have your ballerinas and pointe shoes in one side, and your gruff military type personnel next door. But I'd never really noticed the soldier statue out front before; either he hadn't been there, or I'd just been oblivious (either is equally possible).
So, I bit the bullet (no pun intended) and did a self portrait right in the middle of a parking lot, next to a busy road, where people from inside both stores could see if they looked. And no one came running, or told me how silly and vain the idea of taking photos of myself, of funny looking boring old me, was. And the day went on as normal. But maybe, just maybe, I've turned a corner....

I talk about this shots much more in the description, but I spent a few hours putting things into and then out of this truck, so I figure it counts as a location shot. It's also parked at an apartment complex I've never been near before so it's definitely somewhere new. hmmm... maybe I should have tried to get the Arizona license plates into the shot too. ah well. :)
