Hola, everyone! I'm new to flickr, this group (obviously) and photography in general. My brother (cwdiaz) is a member in this group and he just got me a camera yesterday, so today is day #1 for me. Haven't posted my first pic yet, but it's in the works. I'm no professional, just interested in a hobby that doesn't involve working or my children - I need something just for me!

Uhm...I'm currently at college, studying Business, Media, and Sociology. However, I've decided in September I shall be carrying on with Media, and picking up Photography and English. I wanted to do the Photography course last September, but was gutted when they said they weren't doing it, so hopefully, I'll be able to improve even more :)

Hi everyone...I'm already on day seven...took me a while to notice this thread. Someone I follow on twitter was doing the project and inspired me to try it again (I tried and failed miserably two years ago).

I'm Else, 36, I work as a photographer in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I absolutely hate having my picture taken. But I love the concept and I love taking pictures...so for this project I'll make an exception.

I'm up to day 37 already, but I guess I never introduced myself. I'm 29 years old, I'm an American living in Seoul, South Korea and working as an English teacher. I've been trying to learn more about photography, and I find Flickr to be a great resource. I came across this group my accident, and 365 self portraits seemed like an interesting and challenging way to get more creative with taking pictures.

Greetings! Today is my first day. I used to love having my picture taken, but now I hide from cameras. This is all about taking it back and getting used to it again. I plan to stick to it, but my pictures are likely to be baby steps. :)

Another day one. Today isn't any special day for me, other than it's when I decided to start shooting more pictures. Whether I can manage to stick to this for a year is somewhat in question, but we shall see.

Hello everyone, Cynthia here! I'm 21, just graduated from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville last month, and now I've joined the rest of the 9-5 working society... but I still manage to have fun too! :) I've always loved photography and I was fortunate enough to use my dad's 35mm Cannon growing up which was so much fun! Have a few point-and-shoot now, looking forward to purchasing an SLR someday soon! :)

I had originally planned on starting this back on the Memorial Day weekend, but this last month has been so busy that even though I had my camera with me, I would forget to get it out. Sad day, I know. But I love this concept and I think it's a great way to expand your photography horizon as well as see how you change in a year. Just started a week ago. It's very hard to do this. I'm very un-creative sometimes, but I think it's helping me to think outside the "hold the camera towards my face and take a shot" mentality. I love all the creative people on this group!

This is day 2 of year 2 for me :) I swore I wouldn't do another year, but I got sucked in again!! I'm looking forward to the challenge that this project brings, and forcing myself to pick up my camera everyday and try to find some creativity!

Today is Day 1- first day of my Family Medicine Residency...figured intern year would be a good year to document!

I have missed a day here & there, but now I'll be sure to take at least one every day. In the past I was afraid if I joined it would take up way too much time, especially because I know how particular I am when it comes to Photoshop, but I'll have to see if I can keep be less picky keep up now - won't be easy for me, but I have to try! I am married, father of 3 adult children, live on a 10 acre country place with my wife, whatever kids are currently home, 2 horses, 2 old cats, and a deaf dog.

I"m very....unhandsome. Not scarey ugly, just not your hot looking stud. Balding, a bit overweight (though not out of shape), grizzled beard. Why in the world have I decided to do a year of self-portraits.

Hello, I'm Robert (pretty much everyone calls me Joey though because of how many Roberts there are in my family) and I started on July 1st, but was waiting for my replacement card reader to arrive so I could get my day one photo off of my phone :)

I prefer photographing animals, plants, and trees more than people. That's why I decided to do this. I figured self-portraits are a good way to get started taking more photos of people in general :)

Well, my Day 1 was yesterday. I've been wanting to join the phenomenon for quite some time, but didn't have the courage until recently.
I'm really looking forward to not only growing as a photographer through this, but also visually chronicalling an entire year of my life.
This is the ultimate creative project/visual diary.
My idea is to either capture the general feeling of the day, or write a little synopsis of what happened that day beside the picture. Maybe scan a few quick lines and combine the pictures.

Howdy, I am Gary Meyer from the Cary/Apex area near Raleigh, NC. I have been doing photography steadily for about a year and a half now. This is my first time doing a 365 project. I am really looking forward to it. I hate my day one photo, but the rest will be better. I promise.

My kit is a Nikon D60 with a 18-55 and 55-200 lens. Thats it, basically. I have a tripod and a remote too.

Anything else I need to say??? Oh, the interesting fact, right. Ummmmmm.......... I always say that I have bowled competitively for 14 years. yeah. wow.

I'm Anna from Finland. I would like to be good at taking photos but I feel like I often fail. This project seems like a great way of making progress if you keep to it. Oh and I made a flickr account just for this so that would be why I only have a couple of photos now.

I'm using a Canon eos 400D with a 18-55mm and 28mm and once I get a film scanner I'll start uploading pictures taken with my Rolleiflex 75mm Tessar :)
