My husband hates to have his photo taken. He had a stroke 15 years ago (this month, in fact). He was 28 years old. He's paralyzed on his right side and has some speech and communication disorders. But, he's amazingly talented in woodworking- he builds benches, swings, tables, chairs, stuff like that and small things like birdhouses and boxes.
Anyway, I demanded he be in a photo with me today. Took six tries because he kept pulling faces (like a goof). And here he is... Jerry, also known as "the disabled guy". I write a blog about him called "Conversations with the Disabled Guy". We've been married almost 24 years.

Day 169- my daughter, Christine (again) and me at the Bristol Renaissance Faire in Kenosha, WI. It was her first time at faire and she had a blast. We're going back on September 6th. (I just hope it isn't as hot and humid as it was on August 1st and July 10th). My other daughter (Kat, age 21) is going try and go with us.

Day 203 (Saturday, September 4th). Not the greatest photo because I was leaning over instead of getting on my knees on the floor (I can't get on my knees- I've had a knee replacement and hard floors and my bionic knee don't get along).
Me and my dad. His 65th birthday is tomorrow. My parents were supposed to be out of town this weekend, but their plans fell through. But, I'd made plans with my daughters to go to the ren faire. Dad told us not to break our all-day plans just to hang out with him for a couple hours (the ren faire is about an hour and a half drive from here). Anyway, I baked an apple pie (his favorite) and gave him a set of three photos in a frame (old barns I took photos of in June).

You always take great photos and I think I love your friends!
My most recent guest star was on Sunday, day 204. I was at the Bristol Ren Faire in Kenosha, WI. "Sir Maximilian" and me after the joust. I hope his team (troupe? Not sure what its called) get to come back next year. He's one of the few people I've befriended at a faire that I'll be able to stay friends with over the years. I have other friends at a small local faire that I only see once a year, but its like that year never passed by (and now, with Facebook, its way easier to stay in touch).

Day 90- me with a man named Greg Larson. He plays "Robin Hood" at Bristol. This was at the Janesville Faire
Day 91- me with a longtime ren faire friend, "Loki"-
Day 92- at my daughter's apartment where she lives with her boyfriend... this photo was his idea.
Day 118 with both my daughters (at the younger one's high school graduation).
Day 146- opening weekend at Bristol Ren Faire. I couldn't choose between Loki and Maxx (not their real names, obviously).
Day 147- me and my faire friend, Michael.

Oh, my guest stars are so handsome lately...
Me with "Sir Maxmillian, the Jousting Earl of Braden" (he's just a big of a doofus as you can imagine). Day 161
The whole story is in the photo description, but this is me with "Sir Mauldron, the Baron of Blackburn" before his and Maxx's comedy show at Bristol. I was sitting in the seats for the show and suddenly went from feeling fine to feeling very unwell. The first aid building was right there, so I ducked in for an ice towel (around my neck) and some Gatorade. And that's when Maxx and Maul showed up.
Day 167
And day 168- after the last joust of the day. I asked Maul to be in my photo again and he nudged Maxx away and said, "She said me, not you." I could hear Maxx moving around behind us, but I didn't know what he was doing.
A new Flickr friend and I met on day 167 and she took pictures of me with Maxx and "Sir Amadeo" right after this photo with Maul. Maxx photobombed us in a big way in those photos.
Tomorrow and Sunday I'm hoping for more guest stars. :)

Me again!
There are three weeks left of the Bristol Faire. This has been the best summer ever. I've had so much fun and I've lost 24 pounds already.
Day 174 with "Sir Edgeron"
Day 175 with "Sir Amadeo". Because of Maxx accidentally getting his blood on my sleeve a couple weeks ago, Amadeo has turned it into a game to see how much blood they can get on me. And yes, he really did lick me in this photo.
Day 181- a diptych with Amadeo and "Sir Gregory" (who is actually named Gregory).
Day 182- Photobombed by Maxx again. And Amadeo licking me again. I'm going to miss him when he leaves next week. The "let's get blood on Patty" game isn't all bad. Because he comes through the fence and hugs me. So I don't mind so much. :)
