Thanks everyone for your congratulations, and thanks Nicole for picking my shot to be the icon for the day. I'm choosing this one by Lasadh as the next icon. She went on a spur of the moment hiking trip, and says she feels like a new woman afterwards, and I think you can absolutely see that in her expression.

Well, upon serious consideration....and a lot of flip flopping back and forth...i've come up with the new icon and I have chosen Teenage Jesus today! Congratulations....I hope that you' ve managed to escape that hospital so that you are able to view the photo as the icon today!

Jesus! Thanks! (first time I can pretend that I'm not using the lord's name as a curse! ;-)) So this means I have to choose one for tomorrow (thursday)? Alright people! Attention please!...
Choosing tomorrow's icon was really hard, since there were a lot of very good photos today! And I changed my mind at least a couple of times. But: I've chosen blanket statement by wimdejonge for so easily illustrating what I feel every morning (except I don't look cute - I look mad)! hey srfutbol. The pictures that are chosen for the icon are the best pictures from that day. You just hush up sit back and wait for your picture to be chosen. I've been here since day one and i'm not complaining about not being an icon.
-_- and the next time you decide to complain at least spell out words like "YOU" instead of "text talking" and abriviating words that are only three letters to begin with.

@srfutbol: The icons are picked by the previous icon. Its simply a way to get everyone really participating in the forums and an incentive to try interesting things in your photos.
@shyfox: actually you were the icon once, your picture with the stuffed animals. It was just before we started the contest when I was just picking pictures I liked.

hmmm... that is a problem. Its getting the point that its harder for me to keep up with what's an abuse and not of the group. I am open to suggestions. Would you all rather I just choose a new icon myself? Should Gina choose again? I would hate to end the contest since it does seem like a nice way of rewarding people for good work.

I'd ask Gina to pick again. I'd worry less about the timing (changing every 24 hours) than that the pic is a self portrait from the group.
Just make it clear to the people choosing that the picture they pick needs to be a real self portrait from a participating member of the 365days pool.
It's nice of people to pick a photo from a friend of theirs or some beautiful picture that they like, but it defeats the purpose if it isn't someone that regularly contributes to the group.

I think that's quite reasonable, Jim. And as such, I have temporarilly set the group icon to your most recent photo. If Gina comes back and chooses a new icon by tonight, I'll set that, or if she doesn't by midnight, you can choose yourself. Or if you want, feel free to write her and you can choose together.

Actually, I kind of like that it changes every day, as it gives the group a "daily" feel and that's kind of the point. So far it hasn't been that big a problem for me to change it once a day as I have to log in every day to post my picture anyway, and I like to check and see what's going on randomly whenever. If it gets to be too big a problem, we might have to change the rule or I might have to appoint other admins or something. But so far its ok. Thanx for the suggestion.
