About Red Scarf Project

College is hard enough. You've got to be a VERY determined person to put yourself through college without any family ties. Imagine no financial support, no emotional support, no one to check up on you, or even to say "you're on the right track!"

Show that strangers care by doing something you already love: knitting! The Red Scarf Projects sends thousands of homemades scarves to college-bound foster kids on Valentine's Day who otherwise wouldn't recieve anything handmade. So! Spend a few bucks on some soft red yarn, and start knitting! Scarves should be 5-8 inches wide, 60 inches long or more, unisex, collegiate style, soft and drapey. Feel free to experiment with patterns and red-based colors, however, please keep the "girly" and "manly" quota to 50:50, as both genders need love.

Many of your LYS's will have a drop-off site, or you can mail them to Lisa Miller
1205 E. 35th St.
Charlotte NC 28205

They go out around valentine's, and I will post the deadline as that approaches.
