About Surabaya Walking Through

Surabaya is the capital of East Java province, Indonesia. It is second biggest cities in Indonesia and was famous since some heroic moments during national freedom war on 1945. Nowadays it is a gate to eastern part of Indonesia and is also considered as a metropolitan by local newspaper.

Surabaya also has nostalgic song: Mlaku-mlaku nang Tunjungan ("Walk Through Tunjungan") which expresses an invitation to spend there by walking, especially on famous Tunjungan area.

It was very surprised that there had not yet been Flickr group dedicated for this city! This is first reason to create this group. Next, I will collect, call for posting, and soon after, this first reason will be removed and we are all ready for Surabaya Flickr group.

What is this group all about?

Any pictures taken in, talk about, or express about Surabaya are welcome. It is up to you dealing with its title, descriptions, or even map. The photographers or photo-takers themselves are not meant to be Surabaya citizen, but anyone who would like to share pictures about Surabaya.

Discussion will be held either in Bahasa Indonesia or English. Personally, I do not ban Surabaya local language, but please provide enough translation, because we accommodate various people.

Note: I myself do not live in Surabaya and my pictures about Surabaya are very few. So, I post only for opening this group and after that, I would like to let all members to fulfil this group with your shots. Share them all, make this group fun!
