About International Polar Year
A group for people in engaged in polar research during the International Polar Year (IPY). Note: this site is not affliated, or endorsed by either the National Science Foundation (NSF) or the International Polar Year (IPY) administration.
Any comments posted here are not necessarily those of either the NSF, IPY, or the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
Photos posted here are also displayed on the UAB in Antarctica Web site, which follows a NSF-funded research team currently working on Antarctica's Palmer Station.
Guidelines for Posting
* This group open to anyone currently doing work in either polar region, but membership must be approved by the group administrator.
* Photos may be of anything currently happening in the polar regions, but inappropriate photos that may considered lewd or obscene may be removed at any time without warning.
* Use of the discussion forum is also encouraged, but rude or inappropriate remarks will be removed.
* Bad people will be banished from the group and forced to try and survive out on the ice by themselves.
