About Outstanding Natural Landscapes

This is a moderated group for truly outstanding images of natural landscapes.

The image must be natural in the sense that there are a minimum of man-made elements. It should also be natural in the sense that it doesn't look artificial through excessive use of digital processing. Long exposure techniques are fine though.

Images must be truly outstanding in terms of some combination of artistic merit and subject matter. There is no requirement for a set number of favourites but suitable images will almost certainly also be popular.

Landscape refers to the subject and not the image orientation. Abstracts are fine so long as they are recognisably part of a landscape. But no animal portraits or flower macros please.

Images should demonstate excellent technique and be posted at a size which allows them to be appreciated fully. For most images this means at least a 'Large' size - 1024 pixels on the longest edge. Frames and watermarks are strongly discouraged unless they are really unobtrusive.

Comments are encouraged but there is no obligation.
