About. Vancouver Streetside features candid street photographs taken in Metro Vancouver, which includes the city of Vancouver, its suburbs, and the gulf islands. Photographs include street portraits and stolen moments.

Curation and "how we roll." The pool is fairly heavily curated. If your photos are not accepted, please understand that it's not personal, but rather the opinion of two editors. Acceptable Photographs do not need to be within the strict definition of street photography, if there is one, but they must show the people of Vancouver (either alive or dead) against the urban and rural canvases.

Again, the pool is curated to some extent to create higher quality viewing. Posed photos will not be approved. Candid photos are what we expect, though environmental portraits are acceptable. For the latter, please post the person's name if possible.

Know your roots! Some past and present well known Vancouver photographers are: Dick Bellamy, Brian Stablyk, Jack Dale, Michael de Courcy, Christos Dikeakos, Fred Douglas, Svend-Erik Eriksen, Robbert Flick, Greg Girard, Rodney Graham, Curt Lang, Robert Sherrin, N.E. Thing Company, Fred Herzog, Henri Robideau, Bruce Stewart, Jeff Wall, Roy Arden, Ian Wallace, Tony Westman, Paul Wong and Christopher Anderson who was just accepted into the prestigious Magnum Photos. Also, please visit Larry Towell, the acclaimed Magnum photographer from rural Ontario.
