Versions are as follows:

- 1982-1988: AI-S (Manual Focus)
- 1988-1992: AF
- 1993-1997: AF-D
- 1997 onwards: AF-D (with tripod collar)
- 1999-2004: AF-S

Please note that this group is not for the 70-200mm f2.8 VR, other groups already exist for this lens.
