Hello and welcome to the group! It would be nice if you would introduce yourself, tell a little about the work that you do, and provide a link to your web site.
Merci.

I have a vintage furniture shop in Los Gatos, California. I'm still building pages for my web site; here's the homepage:
Blossom Home .

I have two sons. Jesse is 23 years-old, and Marcel, who is 8 years-old, is home schooled. Although now it's more like shop-schooled as that's where we spend most of our time.

Hi Everyone!

My name is Nelda. I am very excited to be in this group!

I own a online Vintage Clothing Store (www.neldasvintageclothing.com). Last May we closed our retail store, after twenty five years in the retail vintage clothing business it was time for a change.

Five years before we closed the store we started selling onlline, it really took off for us so when our lease was up at the brick and mortar store we expanded my online biz. The change I made has been great. I am still doing what I love to do, sell vintage clothing and now a meet alot of great people from all over the world who share my passion for vintage.

Hello all you clever, talented, enterprising ladies!

My name is Julie Fountain and I am a lampworker in Malvern, UK. I started melting glass nearly a year ago now and I have a small but perfectly formed home studio, aka the Torch Porch.

I have a part time job to pay the mortgage but making my unique glass beads beads (photographing beads, selling beads, talking about beads) is definitely a full time occupation for me.

Please take a look at my website www.lushlampwork.co.uk and maybe even sign up to my newsletter while you're there, if you'd like to be kept informed of my latest work.

Wishing us all happy success,

Hello and thanks Sylvie. This is a wonderful group of women! So much talent. I just joined Flickr and love it.

After almost 20 years working in the corporate world I wanted to get back to my creative side. So I designed and created inspirational charms i call TCharm. I am now working from home trying to build this business. It has been a lot of hard work but mostly much fun because I can be creative, design and share my charms with family, friends and new friends I am meeting along the way! I am starting to get orders from all over the U.S. and Canada through my webstore at www.tcharm.com or www.tcharmjewelry.com

If any of you talented ladies out there that make hand bags or purses, I would love to talk with you. I look forward to visiting this group often. And I wish everyone much success and happiness!

Oh - I live in beautiful Paso Robles, CA in the midst of wine country. My husband and I have been married for over 16 years and we have a wonderful son that loves to play baseball and our family dog, Molli.

Kathy Jeffords says:

Hello! My name is KJ and though I've always been creative, winding up being an "entrepreneur" definitely came as a bit of a shock to me!

Don't get me wrong -- I never particularly wanted to work for "The Man" (or for anyone else, really) and had a series of "regular" 9-to-5 jobs after college where, after a while, my feelings towards each of them ranged from discontent to downright miserable. I grew up wanting to be a writer.

Actually, I think "wanting" is a bit lackluster in describing how I felt. I can remember far back as second grade, buying notebooks in the school store and filling them up with stores (which I wish I had saved!). I was GOING to be a writer. I HAD to be a writer. I WAS a writer and that's what my career would be.

All along, I also said that, in addition to writing, I wanted to have "my own crafty business". I didn't know exactly what that would be...until three and a half years ago, in one of those "regular" jobs where I was downright miserable. One day, I quit. And suddenly, I had "my own crafty business" -- I'm an artist. It's funny how I'd always been crafty and creative and had always "scribbled" (that's what I called it anyway) but never realized that I loved art just as much I'd loved writing -- and actually had some talent for it, too! These days, I mostly paint, but their truly isn't a medium out there I don't want to try.

Writing as a profession has been put on the backburner (because there are only so many hours in the day and this "job" truly requires one being two people -- the artist AND the businessperson), but I am still passionate about telling stories, and thankfully, now I get to tell stories that have pictures to go along with them (or get to make pictures that have stories to go along with them). Anyway, that's me. I'm also very long-winded!

I have a blog: thedreamygiraffe.typepad.com

And a website: www.thedreamygiraffe.com

(I'm also at Etsy under the same name.)

Auroraelle Designs says:

Hi, everyone, I'm Aurora Lombardo, I'm Italian but I live in UK.
I started to make jewellery in 2002. At that time I had just given up by research work in Biology to dedicate more time to my two young children, and I gladly found myself with some spare time to concentrate on the more creative side of myself!.
So I took up jewellery making and glass fusing. I have soon become hooked and what originally started as a hobby has become now a nearly full time occupation! -Nearly, as the children come still first!-

I work mainly with silver and glass combining the techniques of glass fusing and lampworking, with metal fabrication.
Making shapes out of molten glass is a fascinating and magical process that has become a prominent part of my time in my workshop.

In addition to creating jewellery, I also run Jewellery making parties and workshops through The Jazzy Jewelz Studio.

I have just opened a Folksy shop where I sell some of my jewellery
And i have my own website www.auroralombardo.com
Wishing you all a very productive year

Hi girlies

My name is Carol and I live in the north of Scotland.I've always enjoyed making things since a little girl and now my love of crafts is a business of 5 years.

My mum and dad split up half way through my education so I had no qualifications to speak of and I left home at 16 to go straight into work. Iv'e had jobs like pressing kilts to cleaning toilets! I moved up to the Orkney Islands for 4 and a half years and got a job in a gift shop witha gallery upstairs working for a local watercolour artist. She was a great business women and I learnt alot from her.

It was up in Orkney that I started doing craft fairs ith my glass painting and my confidence grew from there.I got married to my lovely italian husband and moved down to Edinburgh. I was there for 7 years and moved up north about a year ago.

I now supply 5 shops ,2 in Edinburgh. I make my own jewellery and make my oun beads and still do my glass painting. Its great to see things grow!! I still do craft fairs and have even organised one myself.

Hello,

I am from Wales (UK) and joined Etsy as a seller about 2 months now. I am forever either making jewelry or sourcing for new gemstones and vintage beads. This is a full time job for me and is not a hobby. But I love it so much that time just passes by.

Besides selling on www.prishajewels.etsy.com , I also sell from my own website www.prishajewels.com .

Hi all,

10 years ago my sister and I established "Nehelenia Pattern" with the intention to supply Europe with authentic period sewing patterns. In the meantime we become Europe's leading source for period fashion patterns and accessories. We're even running our own brand which is - of course - named "Nehelenia Patterns".

Feel free to check out our english website.

Coulson Macleod Typographic Art  Pro User  says:

Hi there. I'm Hannah, one half of Coulson Macleod, an online art business specialising in contemporary limited edition typographic art prints. We're based in the UK.

The business came about because we wanted art for our home, but couldn't find anything we liked for our budget. As my other half and I run a graphic design company we thought we could design our own. Which we did. Then we thought that actually others may like it too. Which they do. So Coulson Macleod http://www.coulsonmacleod.com was launched in March 2009.
