About Fast Food Trash

When you see certain things over and over again two things can happen: you get accustomed to the sight and start to ignore it, or you get curious and start to explore the phenomenon. This group is my attempt to explore and visualize a phenomenon I call "Fast Food Trash". I live in a small town called Giessen in Germany with three big fast food franchise restaurants. Regardless of where I walk the streets of Giessen I keep seeing trash from these three restaurants. I'm aware of the fact that the restaurants are not directly responsible for littering the streets but I do think that this form of littering says a lot about the people eating at these restaurants and is, in fact, an extension of the underlying idea and value of the food served at these restaurants. Seeing this particular trash with its distinctive colorway on a daily basis it starts to blend into the natural environment and almost becomes part of our daily habitat. This group is an attempt to remind us and the people who browse these photos that this trash shouldn't become an accustomed sight. Let's put it in the spotlight and see what happens...
This group welcomes photos of "Fast Food Trash" from around the world. The quality of the photography is secondary, quantity is what matters here. So just take your camera or mobile phone and point-and-shoot the next time you walk the dog. I'm positive that you will not have to look very long...
