07 Jul 09 - Art that uses any non-natural materials is not allowed in this group. Only natural materials are allowed. Work that consists of realistic recreations of real things or using paint etc (e.g. sand sculptures of actual objects - coke cans etc -, or writing in sand/earth) are likely to be rejected. There are other pools that will accept this sort of work. Please only post a limited amount of rock balancing pictures. This group is for artists to showcase their own work, not of other people's art.

~~ Photos from uninvited land artists may be removed. I want to retain editorial control over this group to try and keep the quality of photos posted here high. This group is for land art works that incorporate the use of natural materials only, and work that is abstract (work not using natural materials or work that is not abstract - writing in sand etc - will not be posted) . The Land Art and Natural Art groups contain many fine and inspirational land art creations but unforunately the photo collections have been watered down with too many people posting pretty landscapes and naturally occurring formations that are not land art as we understand it.

My intention then is to create an invite only land art group to collect together our best land art sculptures and work. I would like this group to be a gallery of the nicest work here and when viewed to create the experience of flicking through a book of Flickr Land Artists work, to make this happen I wold be grateful if you could follow these posting rules:-

1) Please post one (or maybe two) pictures of the same work maximum and try to vary the order that you post your pictures (i.e. please don't post ten copies of the same work from different angles in a row - this will help make the group look more like a published album of work).

2) Please keep the posting of similar rock balancing pictures to a minimum - again to show the best of your work in its best light.

3) I want the empathsis to be on works other than rock balancing - but feel free to post single shots of your best and favourite balances.

4) The photos must be of abstract style land art. Recreations or accurate sculptures of real life objects (e.g. coke cans, people, faces, writing etc) will not be posted.

I hope you understand my sentiments and aims for this group and I hope that you will be willing to take part. I would be grateful for any feedback.
