About Shaker Communities
The Shakers were a religious group founded in England in the mid-18th century by Mother Ann Lee. There were various communities established throughout the eastern United States. This group is for photos taken at any of the Shaker communities, whether they are museums like Hancock and Pleasant Hill or serving other uses such as the former community at Alfred, Maine.
