About Gay, but not GAY.
We stand against the fauxhawk, designer jeans, rainbows, Ambercrombie & Fitch, puka shell necklaces, flip-flops with jeans, obsession with Madonna, the need for defined stomach muscles or the "6 pack", shirts with messages ("I'm Not Gay But My Boyfriend/Girlfriend Is"), bad taste in music, the need to be tan whether by sunbathing or tanning salon, bad sunglasses, 40 year-old men calling themselves "boys", sequins, rayon, convertibles, and general modern day gay stereotypes.
We are gay but it doesn't dominate our life. If the gay part was taken away from our lives we would still have something meaningful in our lives and something important to say.
That being said, we love the kitsch value of 70's and early 80's gay culture.
We are "indiegays", dykes, skateboarders (not skater boys), surfers, gay edge, nerds, computer geeks, scally lads, hardcore kids, goth, gangsta, thuggish, emo, gender confused, or bisexual. Some of us are fat. Some of us are skinny. Some of us are ugly. Some of us are in high school. Some of us aren't even out of the closet. And guess what? We like it. We are photographers, artists, musicians, men, boys, women, girls, or somewhere in between.
