Recently I blogged about a project that I've started called $2 Portraits. The idea is that I'll give $2 from now on for the rest of my life to anybody who asks me for money in exchange for their portrait.
While I take their portrait I will try to learn a little bit about each person I photograph to share with the rest of the world. The goal of the project is to increase human interaction.
A lot of people have said that they like this project and have emailed me asking for permission to do the project themselves as well. As far as I'm concerned the more human interaction in the world the better and I love seeing people find an idea and turn it into their own. I also think that the best projects in the world frequently are collaborative. So I've started this $2 portrait group.
The rules:
Only post photos of people in this group who have asked you for money and who have agreed to pose for you for $2. If you can, please include a little bit of information about the person you are photographing as well.
If you can also tag your photo $2 portrait on Flickr this would be helpful as well.
If you'd like to discuss the project more feel free to start a discussion thread where we can participate.
