I got inot depression glass 10 years ago on accident
went to a church sale
and found a beautiful green glass quart bowl it was plain but the lime color was so nice and it was dirt cheap like 25 cents
and it was functional
then I found a what later learned was a pitcher that was also very old clear depression glass or pressed glass
I kept wooded spoons in it in the kitchen
then I got into the fun of garage sales
and learned about depression glass and fire king art deco pottery and kitchen stuff and other antiques and I went a bit crazy
I sold alot of stuff now I only buy what I really love
which is pink and green drepression glass
and other stuff but not related to this group
I have actually found alot of stuff
and been given a ton by neighbors older women
who just want to get rid of old junk clutter

anyway I noticed theres no depression glass group
but alot of antique and shabby chic and collecting groups so I decided to make a
DEPRESSION GLASS group
this means glass
Depression glass started around the depression and for the most part was made cheap and affordable and in cheery colors to cheer the nation up
it was also given away in soap detergent boxes
movies
oatmeal boxes
and the like to encourage spending on there brand
and to be able to build a set of whatever dishes drinking glasses
They made everything out if it
so post your wonderful photos

this dosnt include pryex stuff or fired on white milk glass
its see through colored or clear GLASS
