I agree with joeolas. Wow, this is very dissappointing, I'm sure the book will be overly expensive and 122 is quite a small ammount considering the ammount submitted to the group.

I think we should reserve judgement until the book is made available. It is a small number, but I think that part of the point of this project is for everybody to capture a little bit of the same day, and we can all enjoy the photos here. Just my 2 cents.
In the interest of full disclosure however, I admit that my photo was chosen and would've been disappointed if it wasn't. On the other hand, I really wasn't expecting it anyway. It was just fun participating.

I'm so angry with myself for missing the actual date of "24 HRS OF FLICKr." Will there be another one again next year -- same day and month?
Have a nice day, Heather.

Congratulations to Everyone who made the book.
I look forward to buying it.
Even though I wasn't selected, I still have been having fun following the pool, seeing interesting new photos, and making contacts.

At the risk of getting burnt at the stake by the nay-sayers, I'd like to commend the whole Flickr team for taking this exercise on and dealing so constructively with the stream of negative comments that seem to bounce between the self-centred and uncommercial.
Any print form of Flickr is always going to be a miniscule snapshot of a universe that is at various times insightful, dramatic, revealing, playful but always inspiring - and there for me 24/7/365 (excluding 'massage' appointments).
For me, I can't wait to order a copy. I didn't even submit a photo on the day, but I want to remember the exact day I dropped a few weeks salary on a new DSLR and plunged headalong into my next adventure with light.
And a BIG thanks also to the 122 people who have committed their work to this experiment and the tens of thousands of others around the world that share their inspirations and passions every day.

Thanks for the update, Heather. It must've been quite a job to pick the pictures to post in here. Good luck with all going on in Berlin, Paris, London and Montreal.

I imagine if this book goes well, they will do more (though it does seem like a lot of work went into it - choosing 122 photos out of 7,504 isn't easy).
It looks like they chose the smallest (and cheapest) book Blurb makes, the 7x7
www.blurb.com/create/book/explore
the more pages the book is, the more expensive it is
www.blurb.com/create/book/pricing
Heather says they are selling the book at cost and both Flickr and Blurb are donating a dollar for the first 10,000 books sold.

This is a great looking book. I'm honored to have been able to contribute.
Even though my photo was not chosen, I'm thrilled to learn that ALL photos will be seen in the slide show. Wow that's going to be one heck of a slide show.... How many pictures were submitted?

7,500 - I don't even want to think what the shortlisting process must have been like!
The photos I've seen that are going to appear in the book look great and the collection seems to fit the vision of expressing a day in a global community's life!
I'm not expecting to get the Flickr team all the way to Sydney, Australia, but look forward to ordering a book!
Well done, all.

Les 24 heures Flickr à Paris

It's a very good event, and the place is very nice, but just one question : why there's only a little group of peoples from europe selected to be exposed ? For an event in Paris, there's no french and just a little group from europe exposed in the gallery... do you think that Europeans peoples are poor photographers? ;))

Amen, again, Damian.
Any group here on flickr that have as a theme a day in this little, universe's life, is exciting to me. I loved all the photos of May 5, and thank the flickr team for undertaking this project.
Thank you to all of us!
Congratulations to the photographers that had their photos published:):):)
