I agree with shot by Scott. It is really very hard to short-list just one and then when I consider that I joined a Group just to post one photo in a lifetime - how inappropriate?!!?
I want you all to glance through my stream and tell me if I chose the right one..as I was quite confused so I just asked a colleague of mine and he suggested one that looked best to him!

Okay, I can do just one, even though it will be tough!!!
I really liked the idea of documenting my 24 hours, though. I have taken a lot of pictures today. I've been to a parade and I've taken pictures in my garden. I have even taken shots of my hubby as we went to Lowes™!
So, I think I will tag & make make a "24 hours of Flikr" set so people can see one nice Saturday in MY LIFE!!! LOL

Nope! This is a trust exercise. I'm going to get a little vexed if people get finger pointy towards their 24 hours of Flickr neighbours if the date isn't May 5th for posted or taken.
If you know that you took the photo on May 5th, that's good enough for us. As an example, I was out shooting film this afternoon and it will be a few days before I get all my photos back...
We're leaving the pool open until May 21 to ensure that everyone has a chance to participate, both those who shoot digital or film, those who may be on the road travelleing, etc.

Thanks for the clarification heather, I think the one picture limit is the real challenge in this project, yet a great idea. Still, don't want to be in the guys/gals skin choosing from a the submissions. Gosh, only a couple hours into the new days, and there are almost 3000 pics already. Mine's still to come. Film.
Well, may the force be with you. You'll definitely need it;-)

Heather - What size photo should we upload? Most of the photos I resize to about 800x600, but that's not suitable for printing. Do you have a minimum size? Or an ideal size? And does it need to be made available in All Sizes?

I'm still dithering - can't choose between a garden shot (I've been working flat out to get a building site - with builders rubble and mudflats! - into a garden to be proud of) and a picture of loads of kids of the neighbourhood playing together (they didn't know each other from Adam a few months ago - the estate is totally new built...) on the street. As it should be a snapshot of what May the 5th felt for you (that's how I understood it at least) it really is going to be a toss-up between those two...

No. It's all good as long as it's a photo and everything will be shared at the Flickr hosted events. Post proxessing, cross process, HDR, cropping, partial desaturation are ok -- whatever floats your boat.
Photos with borders that have text (like a motivational poster) are less likely to be chosen for the book given that that is leaning more toward a graphic element than a photo.

Hi Heather ( and everyone)
The photo I posted represented the day, & the place I was, at the time.
I deliberately went out to try to capture some sides of Singapore that would be worth printing.
I thought that was the idea - to represent what occurred in the world on the 5th of the 5th through the eyes of Flickr users. Was that wrong? I seem to be seeing lots of shots of the flickr people or their favourite flower/pet/tree etc.
Oh well, if I had the wrong idea, I still had fun looking for shots (and I took a LOT!) - Even if I did hurt myself in the process :-)
(you can read THAT story here www.flickr.com/photos/neilsingapore/485727263/ attached to one of my images I rejected, if you are interested! )
