The Katelyn Bedard Bone Marrow Association was founded in July 2005 by Bryan and Joanne Bedard of Windsor, Ontario in Canada. Bryan and Joanne were inspired to start this association after losing their daughter Katelyn to Leukemia at the age of 3, when she was not able to find a bone marrow donor.
The GiveMarrow.net web site is an information center assisting people in learning about bone marrow donation and making it easier for them to find out how to join the bone marrow registry in their country.
Mission Statement.
The mission of the Katelyn Bedard Bone Marrow Association is to promote awareness about worldwide bone marrow registries, to educate on bone marrow donation, to bring attention to the pressing need for bone marrow donors and to encourage all adults to consider joining the registry. We also aim to provide support to families that have a family member in need of a bone marrow or stem cell transplant.
