About Leeds - 21st Century City Exhibition
We are very excited to be offering a new initiative to develop your photography and to take part in a group exhibition hosted by East Street Arts in their temporary exhibition space at Dyson Chambers, Lower Briggate, Leeds.
You are invited to submit colour or black and white photographic images responding to our theme: ‘21st Century City – Leeds and the built environment’. The final exhibition will include up to 10 images.
This exhibition is bring jointly promoted by both organisations and includes the following prize:
Your images will be reproduced at a large scale, up to 1.2m and exhibited in Dyson Chambers - a prime city centre location, being next to Dyson's Clock on Briggate.
Publicity material promoting the show.
£150 cash prize fund.
Taking part
Please submit a series of 6-12 photographs in jpeg format either to a new Flickr group: www.flickr.com/groups/21st-century-leeds/ or by email to 21stcentury@exposureleeds.org in jpeg format and being no larger than 1mb. The photographer of selected/winning images will be contacted to request full resolution images. All images must be submitted by 00:01 on 24th September 2010
The submissions will be judged by a panel invited by East Street Arts and Exposure Leeds.
The panel will be asked to look for high-quality images, which reflect some of the contrasting architectural styles of Leeds from an unusual or unexpected perspective. It is expected that the submitted images will together form a coherent body of work. We would welcome written statements about submitted works - though this is not compulsory.
The panel will look more favourably on work which rely on in-camera skills over post-processing, photo-shopping and image manipulation. Purpose shot works will also be given higher consideration than previously captured material. Judging panel decisions will be final.
The winning entry will be produced at a scale up to 1.2m - original file sizes/images need to be available to cope with this enlargement. Approx output at this scale is 100dpi which related to jpeg file size of 25mb). If images are film we will help facilitate this process.
Judges decision is final.
