About 2010 Share The Fair

Going to the Great New York State Fair this year? Submit your photos to the '2010 New York State Fair Photo Contest' Flickr group and enter to win a Syracuse gift basket - including dinner at Empire Brewing Company in Armory Square, tickets to Rosamond Gifford Zoo and the Museum of Science and Technology and a few other Syracuse items.

After the Fair is over, the top 5 photos will be judged for the grand prize. Photos will be judged based on content and quality.

General information:
• The contest is open to amateur photographers, ages 13 and up. Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau staff, volunteers and board members are not eligible, nor are their immediate family members.
• The Share the Fair photo contest begins Thursday, August 26, 2010 and ends Monday, September 6, 2010. All entries must be received on or before September 10, 2010 to be considered in the contest. The Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau reserves the right to modify the deadline for submissions due to circumstances beyond its control.
• The Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau reserves the right to terminate, cancel or suspend the contest without notice.
• Submission of an entry automatically constitutes the contestant’s acceptance of all the conditions set forth in the rules.
• Entries can be submitted by going to the 2010 Share the Fair group on Flickr (must be signed in to Flickr to add photos)
• Photos may also be emailed (in attachment form) to photocontest@visitsyracuse.org (Include “2010 Share the Fair” in the subject line)

Photo specifications:
• Photos may be submitted in natural color or black and white forms only.
• Photos must be in good taste; this determination will be completely decided by the Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau.
• Minor digital enhancements, such as cropping, contrast, etc. are permitted. Images can not be significantly modified.
• No watermarks, signatures or copyright notices may be added to the image.
• Photos of celebrities and public figures will not be accepted
• Contest officials reserve the right to refuse any photo that does not meet the photo specifications or adhere to the contest rules.



Photo management:
• All submissions become the sole property of the Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau and will not be acknowledged or returned.
• By entering the contest, you grant the Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau and its sponsors the non-exclusive, world-wide, perpetual right and license to use, display, reproduce, publish, transmit and distribute your photograph on Internet, and/or in any other promotional materials produced by the Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau and contest sponsors. Photographers retain the right to use the submitted photo.
• When possible, the Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau will credit photographer when his/her photo is used.
• The Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau reserves the right to crop and/or re-size photos if necessary.
• By entering, you warrant that the photographs that you submit are original and are your own, and do not infringe on the rights of any third party. You further warrant that your participation in this photo contest does not violate any agreement between you and a third party.

Judging:
• Judging will take place within 5 business days after the last day of the contest.
• Photos will be judged by the staff members at the Syracuse Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Prizes:
• First place photographer will receive a Syracuse gift basket including dinner at Empire Brewing Company in Armory Square, tickets to Rosamond Gifford Zoo and the Museum of Science and Technology and a few other Syracuse items.
• No substitution or transfer of prize by a winner is permitted. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. Limit one prize per person/household/email address per calendar year with the exception of the final grand prize. Grand prize winner is solely responsible for the cost of any travel to and from Syracuse, and for ground transportation while in the Syracuse area.
